The 2017 Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union (HKRU), marks the 42nd year of sevens in Hong Kong, with 120,000 visitors expected to attend the event.
The world-famous Hong Kong tournament retains its status as the largest on the HSBC Sevens World Series (HSBC SWS), confirming the tournament’s billing as being “Where the World Comes to Play”.
With the addition of the Qualifier, the Hong Kong Sevens remains the largest men’s tournament on the series, with 28 teams playing across three days. Including the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series Qualifier, there will be a total of 40 international teams participating in Hong Kong during Sevens Week.

LUNAR CHINESE NEW YEAR 2016

As 2016 moves in, we welcome the Year of the Monkey. From the 8th of February onwards, we would be celebrating the most anticipated and colourful festival, Chinese New Year.
You will experience the robust energy from the city’s amazing lantern decorations, fabulous parades to the street markets that sell auspicious foods. Hong Kong’s Chinese New Year was recently listed by Forbes as one of the world’s Top Ten Best Festival Extravaganzas, along with Germany’s Oktoberfest.
The first three days of the festival is the prime time to visit the city. It will be featuring impressive fireworks display over Victoria Harbour and CNY Horse Races on the third day.

From the 28th to 31st of January 2016, the HKTDC Education and Careers Expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Expo welcomes educational institutions, public organisations. career enterprises from different parts of the world.
There will be five major exhibition categories this year, education, creative education, careers, professional associations and bodies and books and education supplies, which features some of Hong Kong’s leading job companies and institutions.
Since just last year, the Expo recorded a ground-breaking 770 educational associations, public companies and governmental departments from over 22 countries – 1% higher than that of 2014. There were 130 events provided in the form of workshops, tutorial classes and seminars to provide advice on education, training and career opportunities.
